“The real challenge for 21st century architecture is to ensure that serious attention is placed during student’s education on the relationship between Architecture and Society and Culture. Architecture schools today deal largely with the architecture of architect designed buildings only and these constitute a tiny fraction of the buildings on this planet. It is crucial that we teach designers how to create buildings that enhance the fabric of our societies and cultures, not destroy them, because without them life the 21st century will be even more difficult.”
